Where do beginners start?

Beginners should start by reading/lurking as many of the forums and guides as they can here and sometimes elsewhere. Then, adding as much info in their profile as to which carrier they are on, which exact phone model they have, and the exact f/w (software) version that is on said phone. There is a guide or FAQ for that last step. Sometimes it is also good to know what exact OS version you are running on your computer, i.e. WinXP SP(which?), or Vista, etc.

Then, usually, the best place to ask further questions are usually in the forums section as one will receive many more replies there than here. But when you do ask a question there, most times people will ask for all the details I pointed out in the paragraph above. This FAQ section was designed by the admin's here for just a simple answer to a simple question.
