Alltel V9M Frustrations
I figured if anyone was going to be able to help me with this it would be the experts on this site.
I must warn that when it comes to this I am kind of a rookie, so bear with me. I had to get a replacement phone because my first Razr2 had an "incident". Seems that Alltel has changed some of the options on the phone since then.
I cannot set my own ringtone. It lets me upload them onto my SD card and play them fine in the music player or sounds folder but I cannot transfer to or even view them in the ringtones file on the phone. How can I fix this so I can use my music as my ringer? Also.. this may be more nit-picky than other things but, on my old V9M when I got a new text message it would simply say "1 New Message" on the exteiror display, then when I opened the phone it would tell me who it was from. Now, on the new V9M I got it says who messaged me on the outside display. This I find super annoying as I do not want the name displayed for everyone to see if my phone is laying somewhere. Any help you can give me in either direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

For your ringtone problem you need to get MSU and PK2, open MSU, when it sees your phone open PK2, go to the a\phone then on the a drive delete the file "MytoneDB.db" then turn the phone off then back on, now you can select you music as ringtones
