Verizon Razr V3M 24.1_01.19.07 Firmware and VIVO
Ok, I've been doing a lot of research on this issue and unfortunantly conflicting information is given at every turn.
I have a Verizon Razr V3M with a firmware version of 24.1_01.19.07. I have no clue if it's p-ESN, MEID or whatever the jargon is (or if it matters much). I just bought the phone and would love to break free from this sheety Verizon UI and go with the Motorola UI (I'm more experienced in that).
So I guess what I want to do is perform a flash to VIVO as I've read up that it's the one that meets my needs the most. Is this possible with this phone and firmware version? If so, where are the instructions in doing so? I found a few forums like HoFo and Mike's but each link to the "How To" ended up being dead.
A user here "humanshield" has reported success with flashing this firmware on their phone by using a "Verizon Monster Pack" then flashing to "VIVO" but fails to mention which Monster Pack they used. If anyone knows this, please let me know :)

Posted: Sat, 04/05/2008 - 09:34 by pyde_pypperWell with the firmware you have you are SOL, being you just got it and it has that firmware it does in fact use an MEID instead of an ESN. The being said the flash will more then likely ( 99%) it will fail and brick the phone. Now if you are willing to risk it there is a newly leaked DST file ( ie generic Moto with no carrier branding) that just got leaked. They don't know if it works with MEID phones or not yet because no one has tested it. If you are interested I'll post the links and a link to a guide for you to use.

Posted: Sat, 04/05/2008 - 10:01 by pyde_pypperThat's the problem there is no fail safe that is a given. A lot of folks can get it back running with the VZW firmware and other can't. If I knew for a fact you could get it rolling again I'd for sure say. Personally I wish I had an MEID Razr just to toy with this stuff because I could careless if it bricks being I have enough phone to switch to. I'd also rather not have someone try it if they have no other options and they just got the phone because if it does brick and you can't get it back you'd have to taken it in for replacement and just give them some line of shit as to what happened.

Also, I went into Phone Info and have the following choices to view:
MDN
MIN
p-ESN
MEID
Does this still mean I have an MEID phone what with p-ESN showing up (and populated with a #)?

As for QPST go into the properties of the Moto USB modem when your phone is plugged in and see what com port it is set to. Then go back to QPST configuration and add the com port. Once you add the specfic port Windows has it set to it should show up them.
