Verizon fixed DUN backdoor -- this thread contains a fix
Tethered DUN was working fine yesterday. Today, I got online, and was automatically redirected to https://dunsp.vzw.com/, which says "This device is currently not authorized to access Dial-Up Networking services, please contact your wireless service provider for more details."
Nothing on my plan has changed or anything. Are they on to me?
ahhhhhh

Posted: Thu, 04/03/2008 - 20:06 by spikejonesjust got done checking mine. I get the same behavior as well.
I'm gonna see if this RR Dial access works now, for some reason when I first signed up for it, it told me that my account wasn't registered or something like that - even though I specifically registered. Ah well, worth a shot.

Posted: Fri, 04/04/2008 - 11:13 by pyde_pypperWell I see this is getting reported over on Hofo also now today. I haven't got a reply yet, but I'm guessing VZW caught onto this finally and has closed the backdoor. I know they are doing network updates and stuff and this may be one that is now locked. That being the case say goodbye to DUN unless you are willing to pay for it. As soon as I get a word I'll post the info here for everyones reference.

I wonder if (or when) they will catch on to WAP...

Posted: Fri, 04/04/2008 - 14:01 by once_guitaristyep. same here. I was out and about in my truck and needed to find directions and got the:
"This device is currently not authorized to access Dial-Up Networking services, please contact your wireless service provider for more details. "
Sucks, cuz just the day before I was using it to check out the speed.
My wap isn't workin either, I keep getting 'network connection lost'. I try right after the half hour passes (when the server reboots) even super late at night into the morning and it won't work.
I think they caught on. Time for new hacks I guess

Posted: Fri, 04/04/2008 - 15:18 by pyde_pypperFYI if you are trying to use the HTR WAP it is down and is not coming back anytime soon.
I just checked my WAP setup and it works fine.
