Im a newb and dont want to screw this up. My old lady would use that for a looong time. Anyway I need help ASAP. And thanks ahead of time and my apologys if this is a repeat . I searched but came up empty. I did install usb drivers successfully.

well we recently had a guy
Posted: Sat, 12/13/2008 - 22:04 by listenman20well we recently had a guy switch over a v3m to metro from another carrier and after we told him to flash he still had to take it in to the store to get them to program his phone. he didn't have all the info needed to make it work without them handling it...while he was there they dunned him $47 for flashing his phone with what i'm fairly certain was the same stuff he had already done...all that said...my suggestion would be to take it to the store and let them flash it for $47 and be done with it and then the old lady can only fuss cuz you spent her Christmas money....lol

i hear what you are saying
Posted: Sat, 12/13/2008 - 22:11 by jimlstefi hear what you are saying but ive been under the impression that it can be done and with everything working, internet,picture mail,etc. Metro says all you get is a phone and txt messaging.
then if metro is telling you
Posted: Sat, 12/13/2008 - 22:19 by listenman20then if metro is telling you that then they're not flashing they're just activating...so yes you can flash but you'll still have to take it to them for activation and that may very likely be $47. to flash it look thru the guides under the link at the top of the page and you should be able to grab the monster file you're looking for from here...

Id be happy with that. Its
Posted: Sat, 12/13/2008 - 22:53 by jimlstefId be happy with that. Its worth $47. A metro razr is a minumum of $200 and their ancient models. I looked under the sprint guide and all i got was a message saying that they didnt have much. I did download a file called MPC_V3M_01.1A.00R_PRIkk42423_MONSTER_01 but windows doesnt recognize it. Is this the right one and how do I make this happen. Thanks For putting up with my crap all you guys are the shiznit in my book.
ok i found the link dduh.
Posted: Sat, 12/13/2008 - 23:05 by jimlstefok i found the link dduh. this is a sprint phone but i want it to be metro so i download and run the metro monster and then what? also what settings do i need to save and how short of writing it down. Is there a guide so im not back here every ten minutes pissing everbody off. Thanks
Re-read Listenman's second

Since this site was started with most ppl having verizon phones, most of the guides are there. Under the verizon section, you should find the flashing section.
The file you have is just the flash file itself. It does nothing by itself, you'll need more software that actually does the flashing process.
good luck
Also a V3m VZW->Vivo flash
Also a V9m VZW->USCC SPARKO_etc (sold)

that's the general take...then from there i think there's a flashing guide for verizon phones in specific but alot of the steps are about the same....as far as i know there's no specific guide for flashing phones to MPCS but all the info can be gleaned from reading over the guides from here and other sources....if you go outside this site for guides however yuo MUST make sure you're getting a guide for cdma phones...as gsm phones are similar but have very obvious differences in the software that runs them.
