Skinning Issues
Ive been using Skinner4Moto and I recently downloaded this really cool skin. But the person that created it covered the clock with icons and the "operator" and "date" texts are hanging off the screen on the right (and covered by the icons). I went into Skinner and moved everything so it would be visible then loaded it to my phone. When I did it acted like a really bad skin job. I couldnt access my phone at all. I had to start it up & leave it closed, upload the original skin (not the one with my edits) to get the phone to function.
I dont think Im using the skinner program wrong or am I? ANyone got suggestions?

Posted: Thu, 05/17/2007 - 01:33 by polycat33I don't know a lot about skinner4moto, but I'll make suggestions based on the little experience I have with it.
I wanted to move my clock so that I could see it while in a call, so I loaded in the original moto skin and edited it. When I saved it, instead of having like ten or fifteen moto.dat files, I had like three. I heard it was because when you edit a skin it doesn't save ALL the info, so it has to reference the right skin (moto, with all the missing info) when it's on your phone. This means the edited skin has to be below the original, and the original has to be the first on the list. I don't know how you get the skin to have all the correct number of dat files so it can act on its own, but it doesn't, or at least, not without a little handiwork.
You could try making a copy of the skin, renaming all the files, opening it in skinner, editing it, and saving, instead of saving as...? If that's what you were doing? Possibly it will save with the same number of dat files as before and have all the info in that skin?

I have a skin that I really like and it works with one problem, None of the menu items show up all the graphics everything are good but no menu item. Is their a skinner out their that can fix this theirs got to be an easy fix! :(
