Selecting a ringtone -- mp3s play fine, but I can't choose them as ringtones
Hello!
First of all, I'd like to thank everybody for all the outstanding information here. I have learned a huge amount just by browsing the guides and forum posts. I appreciate it.
Here's my situation. I used P2K Commander to upload some mp3 ringtones to my RAZR V3m. They play great on my RAZR and sound incredible. The only hitch is that when I highlight a file, and then try to press the "options" soft-key, the phone doesn't give me the option of using the mp3 file as my ringtone. I can _play_ the file, but not save it as a ringtone.
One further twist: the first couple ringtones I uploaded with P2K Commander can be saved as ringtones...just not the ones I've uploaded since then.
Any ideas if what I might have done wrong?
Thanks in advance,
ccochran

Only other thing I can think of off the top of my head is if you've updated the firmware or anything. It's been a while since I messed with a Razr but I know the newer firmwares changed the location of where ringtones need to be saved to.

mytone.db is gone from the A directory in the V3m

Thanks for your response. I re-examined the A/motorola/share/audio folder in my V3m, and the mytone.db file is gone. I did delete when I first started adding MP3s and it seems as though it never regenerated itself. I just went through the re-start on the phone, and it still didn't recreate mytone.db. Hmmmmm.

That did the trick
