Reconnect Razr V3m
Hi, I have a razr that I have put ALOT of time into hacking(This site is awesome!). I had to cancel my contract due to leaving the US, but now and coming back and would like to get my phone hooked back up. Will I have to perform any reversing of seem edits and hacks in order for Verizon to program a new phone number onto my razr v3m? I just figure that since I had the free DUN working(it still works right?) and other customization, I'd hate to get a new phone that might have less hack potential.

Give us a few more details and we can better assist in telling you what may or may not need to be done.

1. It still has the original verizon firmware that it came with.
2. I have done the following seem edits:
[bytes seem offset bits]
enable bluetooth/usb file transfer: [0000 2742 006a] checked bit 1
enable multimedia studio: [0090 2827 0000] checked bits 0 2 3 6
enable moonlight haze: [0000 2742 003b] checked bit 0
outside LCD orange/graphic: [0000 2742 0094] unchecked 7
time/date menu option: [0000 2742 008d] checked 0
jave menu app/loader: [0000 2742 0043] checked bit 0 *didn't do anything
custom startup animation: [0000 2742 0046] checked bit 0 *didn't do anything
full engineering menu: [0000 2742 0047] bit 7 checked *didn't do anything
change verizon wireless logo: [0024 296a record:0005] -manually changed text
Enable file access with QPST: 2742 Bytes: 0000 Offset 5a checked bit 7
Unlock web browser stuff, url entry etc..:
bytes:0000 seem:284d record:0001
change top line entry 1f.... to: 1f a0 fe bf 0f f5 7f ee f1 97 02
3. I went through the "free DUN fix": changing the nvm_factory file containing "yournumber@dun.vzw3g.com". So I had my phone working as a high speed modem for my laptop.
I have also changed the startup animations, uploaded homemade ringtones, and did a custom menu skin with the brew resource editor.
I think that is it.
oh... I also used to use hacktherazr as a web proxy, so...

Thanks

Well, that's the stuff we needed to know. Funny thing, I found your post from WAY back that had this info this morning. You should be good to go and not have to un-do anything you've done. If you still have a VZW account, all you should have to do is dial *228, select option 3, follow the prompts to add your phone back onto your account, the OTA will take care of the rest of the programming of your phone.
If you dropped VZW altogether, then you should be able to call them to start over and just tell them you used to be a customer, you (still) have a V3m, give them the ESN, and when it's all said and done, (and they'll tell you this as well), dial *228, select option 1 and BAM! Your phone will be programmed with the new number and such. BUT, if this is the case, 'free' WAP and DUN are over, since you will have a Nationwide plan which charges for data, $1.99/mb. But, just ask them (or log into your 'My Account') and add the $15/mo vcast pak to your account and that will take care of that.
Two final things. The HTR website has changed a bit. If you could, please, go ahead and go to your account settings -> phone and go ahead and enter the info requested there, including (and especially) the current firmware/software that your phone is running. This is a gr8 help for us if you have further questions. And the 'DUN' fix has been updated, so you might want to check out the new guide here in the guide section. It requires a different type of seem edit than what was needed before.
good luck
