Razr V3m

Sorry in adavance if this is in the wrong place
(It is about a V3m on the verizon network :] )
So, I have had a V3m for almost two years, and yesterday, the phone just shuts it self off. At first i thought it was no big deal and just turned the phone back on. then about 30 mins later it did the same thing. So once again, i turned the phone back on and it came on with no problems. After that, the phone worked my entire ride home which was about 45 mins. Well when i get home i open my phone and start to text people, and once again the phone just shuts it self off. After that it became constant, like it would shut off when i pushed a button. Then I decided to plug the phone in. That did not work, at first. It continued to shut off, to the point where i would turn it on, and it would shut it self right back off with in 2 seconds. Then I took out My battery and left it on the charger, this is when the phone seemed to work fine. I played with the phone a little bit, sent a few text, and it seemed to work fine. Any idea whats wrong with it?
 
Edit: Oh btw, I have tried a *228 opt 1 and it faild the first time and then it asked if i wanted to try again, i tried it again and it worked.
