Only Keyboard Lights Up

I attempted to flash my v3m a few years back to work with Alltel. However, something went horribly wrong. Now the phone just lights the keyboard, and I get no response from it. The power button does nothing when pressed. The screen doesn't come on, and the keypad stays on until the battery dies or the battery is removed. When ever I plug the phone into my computer I get error messages stating that no phone is connected.

I don't remember the steps I took to screw the phone up as this happened a few years back. I was just digging through some old stuff of mine, and decided I wanted to look into the revival of the phone some more.

Any suggestions at what may be wrong with the phone?? I think it is going to need to be flashed with a hardware flash programmer, but I am new to that area. I am a quick learner so any info or links to info that would explain further on how this is done would be greatly appreciated.
