newbie needs help. have a sprint CDMA RAZR2v9m phone that works; want to use it on Verizon

OK, this is simple. LOL. Now, mind you, the steps I'm going to give you are pretty much for advanced users, so if you have any doubts, etc. STOP! Adk first and I/we will help from there.

The only way to get that phone wroking on VZW is to flash it to VZW firmware. There is a generic flashing guide here at HTR:

Make sure you have the drivers setup first, then RSD Lite (with the phone plugged in).

As mentioned in the guide linked above, this file I linked for you is a self-extracting archive file. Double click on it and hit the 'Install' button and make sure you know where it extracted to. Therein will be the .shx file you need for flashing.

If you do all the steps in the guide correctly, including the Master reset/clear, you should be able to just dial *228 select option 3 and get it activated on your VZW account.

And if you are successful, we can go into the further hacking/flashing of your phone from there.
