NEED HELP ASAP!!!
my uncle is down visitng and he uses alltel. his phone crapped out and is here for another 2 weeks with no phone. cannot buy another one at the moment but needs a phone. i have an extra sprint v3m. i see i can flash it for alltel but can i then use it for alltel service? how do i go about this? i need instructions asap. i saw the guide to flash it but i need ot know how to have it so he can use the razr on the alltel network. thank you.

Posted: Thu, 08/14/2008 - 22:30 by krazypricanwell i did the flash and used 50887_AC2_prl after that and then called alltel with new esn. they approved and went through the whole setup manually (used #0SETUP* i believe. *228 did not work) they tested it by calling the phone and having me dial a number both worked. and now my uncle has a sprint phone converted to alltel and now has a phone for free!!!! i tried sending txt msgs to make those work and they do. camera and vid camera work. everything seems to work really good. thanks to the help of this website.

Posted: Fri, 08/15/2008 - 04:46 by pyde_pypperGlad to see you got it rolling for him. FYI the reason the *228 more then likely did not work is becasue of the PRL file you put on the phone. The 50887 AC2 PRL file is for Verizon. Next time if you ever have to go threw something like that if you can get the carriers ERI & PRL file from the old phone or the web if possible. Then upload those to the phone and call in to have the ESN actviated. Once it has been activted then the *228 function should work. Keep in mind this only works if you flash with the carrier specific firmware you are going to hook the phone up to.
