My computer isn't recognizing my Razr V3m

Hi, I'm new to this, but I really wanted to get some picture files off my phone. I have a Razr V3m with US Cellular. I've tried downloading many different drivers and software, including the ones I found on this site in the Download section. When I plug in my phone though, (using the mini USB) everything (Windows Media Player, BitPim...) says that it can't find a device. I have Windows Vista. Did I miss a step or something that's causing my computer not to recognize that I have my phone plugged in?

does you phone say it's charging when you have it plugged in? does your device manager show anything related to the motorola phone when it's plugged in? in the settings and tools option you should have connections....try setting it to mass storage device. if that doesn't work then go back to modem and see what device manager is seeing.

Yes, it says it's charging when I plug it in, which I've read means something isn't right. How do I find the device manager in my computer? I think I downloaded it, but I'm not sure because I downloaded a lot of things, and they're all named similarly. Sorry, I am really new to this.

I have MSU, I also have P2k and BitPim. BitPim will give me info on my phone when I click Phone Info, but when I click Find Phone, it says "No Phone Detected/Recognized". I may have gotten it to work on P2K. At least it's recognizing my phone.

I have a 32 bit Vista.

I figured out one of the things I was doing wrong for a while, and now it's working perfectly for a few minutes, until I turned off my phone, and now my phone won't turn on at all. I'm guessing it was from me doing something with this. Has this ever happened before and is there a way I can fix it?? I'm leaving on a vacation tomorrow, and my phone is my only connection to the outside world.

Well, you may already be on vacation, but try doing a Master reset on your phone (but NOT a Master clear), it is found under 'Initial Settings'.

That should at least restore the basic funcionality of your phone.

good luck
