hacking the Razr2 V8
Is there a way to hack a t-mobile razr2 v8? because i need to get into the file systems and i can't use any of the software for the v3

Posted: Tue, 08/05/2008 - 08:38 by pyde_pypperMy suggestion is to head over to Hofo and ask. Being you have the v8 from T-Mobile it runs the linux OS and no other Razr uses that at this time. Plus most of the software posted or linked here is for CDMA phones and not the GSM models like you have with the added warp of having the Linux OS.

Youd prolly have a snap getting into with moto4lin on a linux OS. Just an assumption though. Keep us updated on what it takes though.

That is why the v8 is the only Razr2 to have the Linux OS. They do not have it working with the 3g networks whihc is why all the other Razr2 still run Moto's Synergy OS.

One other thought though, does the v8 use a transflash card that you can use to store photos on? If so, just load those photos onto the transfalsh card, take it out, and then load the transflash card onto the computer. Similar to the FAQ i posted here: http://www.hacktherazr.com/faq/how-do-i-transfer-pictures-v3m-phone-pc
look at method number two at the bottom of that FAQ page to get the idea of what needs to be done.

Posted: Mon, 08/11/2008 - 06:45 by pyde_pypperDoesn't your model phone have USB mode? Go into Menu>settings>connection> and look for USB. If it is there see if it is set to USB mode or modem. If it's modem switch it to USB and then cycle the power on the phone. After which time plug it into you comp and see if it shows up as a removable hard disk.

What folder come up inside the drive that gets listed? If it's like any of the other Moto phones that may shed some light.
