General Questions about the RAZR.
Aaight, so this is it:
I just got the RAZR yesterday, my dad switched to ATT and got the Iphone 3G
(drool)
and I got his old RAZR. I have a few general questions about this phone that I was hoping someone could answer:
I am beginning to grasp the concept of SEEM editing. My phone doesn't have "normal" Bluetooth, just options to connect to a headset. Is there any way (new firmware, SEEM edit) that I could access full-blown Bluetooth?
SECONDLY,
Looking in the back of my phone, there is a slot I see just under the battery that looks like a concealed SD card slot. The kid that sits on the bus in the seat in front of me has the same slot, but his has a sticker over it that says to remove the battery before inserting a memory card.
What is this slot for? Could I possibly add more memory to my phone??
Lastly, how hard is it to buy a faceplate/backplate and change the color of my phone?
My dad dropped his a few times and I was wondering how hard it would be to replace the front and back to get rid of the dings and scratches...
Thanks in advance for your help!

to get full BT best bet is
Posted: Tue, 09/02/2008 - 20:04 by listenman20to get full BT best bet is to flash to vivo. with that f/w that should be about the easiest way and it will still give you use of a media player for music if you decide to put songs on a card that fits in that little card slot. i suggest you do alot of reading and a lot of back ups. check out mark v's site. and teddyearp has a modified guide to flashing to vivo that might make things a bit simpler. i'll give you a couple of links to take a look at. they may point you to even more links...with teh questions that come thru here reading is the best answer...i think about everything has been asked...some more than once.

DO BACK UPS
as for your scratches and dings i'd suggest a clip on cover...can be bought at most kiosk in the mall and wal-mart
Well seeing as these guys
Posted: Wed, 09/03/2008 - 05:34 by pyde_pypperWell seeing as these guys gave you the info you need the only thing I'll add is yes you can change the case. However it can be a PITA to do so tho. Run a search here at the site there is a writeup or link to instruction on how to disassemble the phone and change it.

Posted: Wed, 09/03/2008 - 10:30 by teddyearpYup, read all these post, read alot about flashing and here's the direct link to my little write-up:

It'll contain the links to mark's guide as well.
But, if you're on AT&T, you won't be able to use your Razr with them.
good luck
Also a VZW V3m flashed to USCC NCR_01.1B.00R, then upgraded via MSU and now flashed to ViVo and active on the USCC network.
crap... i keep seeing AT&T
Posted: Wed, 09/03/2008 - 10:59 by spikejonescrap... i keep seeing AT&T and thinking alltel. nice catch teddy. AT&T is GSM network and is incompatible with the Verizon Razr v3m. So you need to keep that phone on a CDMA network to have service.
ehh. whats up doc?
His left hand info suggests
Posted: Wed, 09/03/2008 - 11:09 by teddyearpHis left hand info suggests that HE may still have VZW, but I thought I'd point out the diff just in case.
Also, I need to further edit me write up for using RSD Lite for the actual flash, therby totally ditching any need for PST (Piece of Sh and Troublesome)

FYI guys the phone they are
Posted: Wed, 09/03/2008 - 11:11 by pyde_pypperFYI guys the phone they are trying to use is in fact a VZW v3m. They posted that earlier in the thread. The parent is the one with AT&T with the iPhone which is how they got the VZW v3m. they have not however mentioned if they are planning on staying with VZW or going to AT&T tho.
