Verizon Wireless KRZR
Anyone try to hack this yet? I hacked the Mot E815, and just upgraded to the KRZR. Very cool looking phone, but the same limitations.
I'm going to have a go at hacking it this weekend, but thought I would check to see if there is any advice, lessons learned.

So just try to make sure you put v3c & v3m. Thx, we just don't want people to get confused is all seeing as they are not the same phones, and any hack for a v3 will brick a v3c or v3m.

Posted: Sat, 10/28/2006 - 16:40 by HandOfGodyeah i put v3 cuz i didn't remember what specifically it was.... and i've never paid attention to what they were.... i just know i've been able to edit my mainmenu.bar and bgtitle.bar files with ease.. and i've changed my startup and shut down animations by simply replacing them... i haven't seem edited my phone at all yet. the ringtones thing, (deleting the db file) works....
i'm not flashing anything so i dont think the likeliness of bricking a phone from those items are that likely????

Posted: Sat, 10/28/2006 - 16:51 by pyde_pypperI understand what you're saying but we have had a few folks go and find info on the web and they thought it was relative to the v3c or v3m and it isn't, it was for v3 hacking. Most sites on the web that have the hacking info are not relative to the v3c or v3m that is why you need to pay close attention to what you getting. Like trying to skin a phone some people have gotten confused and tried to put a skin on the v3c or v3m and then none of the menus work, that's because the VZW Razr/KRZR don't use skins, like the other Razr's. I can skin mine because I'm flashed to Alltel, but in your case you have to do the whole theme thing with the *.bar files because of the VZW UI.

almost none of the guides recommend making a backup first... its my bad, i need to resolve it.

regardless, adding 1 backup step to each guide wouldnt be a bad thing.
on top of having the backups directory published somewhere other then the forums ;) damn... so many loose ends... can someone clone me please?
