also, we plan to make it so that everyone with a forum login will be able to use that login as their own personal wap proxy account, which will truly protect your data and logins (as opposed to the general wap / wap user setup right now). then on top of that we plan to make it so that that same memberships works with the new joomla site coming to theatres soon.

Gateway IP is 000.000.000, Gateway 1 is wap.hacktherazr.com, Service Type HTTP, Port 1 is 9201.
BTW, I've got a V3m from VZW.

I have Browser Reset and pulled the battery, is there anything I can dso to get it to work. I can connect to Google.com.

Posted: Sun, 01/14/2007 - 17:46 by pyde_pypperyou and me both, it just means the server is down. there is no way to fix it at this point until they can get it to a server that will stay up and running more frequently. That is why everytime you try Google it will work, it's not your setup it just the proxy being down.

Posted: Thu, 01/18/2007 - 00:03 by styolalright everybody! so heres the status on the official WAP proxy... ive been forced to temporarily take it offline only for a short time while i was testing a theory... the theory was positive so im going to have to move the WAP proxy to a different server.
The issue that i tested was that certain clients on my web server were experiencing longer then normal wait times when browsing their site.. i was alerted to the fact that a limited resource was being used up by something that may have been causing the clients site to move slowly... so! considering the only abnormal resource taking thing i had running on the web server was the WAP proxy... sure enough after leaving it down for a day or two (the resources usually rebuild daily, its like a limit/maximum) the clients site started working properly.
so im going to do my best to leave the proxy up for now as it was, but this is just a notice that hte proxy has been down for several days, in and out, and that we will be moving the official WAP proxy to a more permanent setup.
thanks for your patience and we're sorry that we left you without your precious WAP :) it has been 100% free y'know!

P.S. Now the only way it should be able to go down is if the server reboots or something. :shock:

pretty much everything in the past 20 posts is exactly why we dont have the official proxy mentioned in the free wap guide :)
but! as soon as we move you can be sure that anytime you press the wireless web button that it will go straight to the goods....

This will solve the problem of having to keep your putty connection open on your computer. As long as the linux box is up, it'll run:
To launch a process in background, add an ampersand '&' at the end of the command line:
$ progname [-switches] [parameters] [ output] &
So if the program is wapproxy and I had no switches pr parameters, I would type
./wapproxy &
assuming the program runs as a ./
just type what you normally do, but add a & to the end, and you wont have to keep the putty session open.
