Tried to skin v3c / v3m and now my phone freezes?

1. Install PST- Make sure to patch it with the UNI patch BEFORE you restart your computer. This is very important. If you do not do this the only PST tool that will work is the programmer. Also this stops MotoKit from working right. I cannot tell anyone where to get PST since it is warez, but if you search the internet long enough, it will turn up.

2. Install MotoKit- This one is easier to find and install- the steps and the program can be found on this site.

3. Open your P2k Software and delete the skin folder that is causing the problem, eg. I deleted the folder "Moto" because the skin I wanted to use was called Moto, and it was the cause of my trouble.

4. Run the PST programmer. When the new hardware wizard comes up, do advanced and direct it to the drivers folder of the PST install folder.

5. Once PST is installed and recognizes your phone, (this can be tested by opening a new phonebook document, and then reading from phone. If the program reads your phonebook from the phone, it is connected, if it fails it is not connected.) open MotoKit.

6. Once you change MotoKit to english, (the third text block from the left>1033 english) Go to Mobile>Control>Master Reset. This will restore the phone to factory settings. It will not delete the phone number, SEEM edits, picture, videoes, or rigntones already on the phone, however.

the problem is that the phone cant read the theme that you had uploaded, and when it freezes, its actually restarting... because it cant load the menu properly it just crashes the phone.

When performing any phone altering modification, always make sure that the guide or steps applies to your phone, specifically. Exact model and even carrier.

I believe the issue you are having has resulted from attempting to use a V3 skin for a V3C / V3M. Although these Razr's may look similar, the Verizon Razr's are not the same as the cingular / t-mobile razr's.

Long story short you roasted your phone. There are two options here... not sure if the quicker, easier method will work... but the first thing to try is uploading the OEM original themes. i dont have this with me at the moment, and ill try to remember to post them but if i dont reply to this thread asking for them.

the second, more advanced somewhat pain in the ass way is completeing re-flashing your phone... which is more or less erasing everything on it, and resintalling the software. if you have a v3m you will not be able to do this. if you have a v3c you will be able to do this. post back with what phone you have and what carrier so that we can properly assist you.

If you used P2Kcommander to delete it, have you double checked with BitPim to make sure it is completely gone. If so then my guess is you still can't access anything because when you hit the menu key it goes back to the main screenor it just turns white. If that is the case read threw the link I posted and follow the instructions I had listed. After that let me know. I have a link at home that I'll get you so that once you get everything ready, you'll be able to do a Master reset with some software. Hopefully after you get the master reset done your phone will be back to normal. I'm assuming you've used PST or MSU, becasue you will need to have one of those in working order to fix this issue completely. Here I found the link real quick. If you know how and have PST running or MSU follow item #2, then skip down to #5 seeing as you have already deleted the bad skin, and follw othe instruction to the end . Hope this helps you out, and plz let us know either way. Keep in mind you'll want to find MotoKit v1.06, and only use it to do the master reset like explained in #6, the software was designed for GSM phones not CDMA but it will work to do the master reset. if you're interested in getting bitpim to connect... goto the settings.. click browse to the right of com port.

it will pop up a list of possible devices connected...

means that you should be able to connect with bitpim.

=====INOPERABLE PORTS=====
Motorola USB modem

means that you need to unplug your phone and then plug it back in. after doing that, click the Refresh button on this window.

then try bitpim again.
