Flashing your CDMA K1m or L7c with the BELL firmware....
Posted: Tue, 06/12/2007 - 01:43 by polycat33Things I’ve learned from reading that super long thread:
So far only a k1m flash is available, which can be flashed onto a k1m or an l7c, but no flash file for the v3c.
We knew ahead of time that this would happen: GIN doesn’t work, VZNav doesn’t work, VCast doesn’t work. BUT you can get free Java games and apps so GIN isn’t really necessary, and you can get the Google Maps app for free also so not having VZNav isn't SO hard.
Sounds like the link at the beginning is to a flash AND a flex, and you should do just the flash, not the flex. The flex just changes seems, and someone posted a zip file with the seem edits it does – the flex will do these seem edits but also possibly mess up the process of getting the phone working again.
DUN may or may not be possible, until yesterday (ie. today for me since I haven't gone to bed yet!) no one had gotten the tethered NAI to stick but a couple people just got it... however I don't think they're sure how so replicating that might be hard until they figure it out, might have had to do with a seem edit.
Flash from Alltel or Vivo f/w, not directly from VZW, that’ll brick the phone, so if you’re on VZW you need to do the Alltel or Vivo flash first.
Sounds like Java games go on real easy, put the .jad and .jar files into a certain location (/brew/mod/jbed/preinstall) and the phone installs them for you and puts them in the format of preinstalled games. However, to be able to delete them through the phone you need to change one letter somewhere to make the phone see them as not pre-installed.
All bluetooth features unlocked (except, I’m guessing A2DP or whatever that one is that lets you listen to music over a bluetooth headset) and no seem edits required for MPT.
Possible loss of USB Mass Storage Device capability (although I’ll bet this can be done again with some work).
Very recent developments seem to have enabled data services in 1x only, while work is still being done on getting them working in EVDO.

Posted: Tue, 06/12/2007 - 14:20 by pyde_pypperDone deal, I edited it just so folks don't try flashing a Razr with that file becasue it will brick the phone and if memoery serves me. There would be no going back even with a Monster flash file. I believe it changes the bootloader which is why you have a paperweight on your hands if you flashed a Razr with the Bell firmware.
Currently using a Moto Q9n (A4500 Napoleon Smartphone)

thinking about taking the plunge
Posted: Thu, 06/21/2007 - 16:55 by trdspectacomawell i am really debating doing this or switching to VIVO from alltel. I need to flash to verizon, get my data fixed, then flash to vivo get everything over there working. and then maybe flash to bell.
i think I have everything right. don't really need mms. just need web and other things to work over 1x

Have a V3m VZW->Vivo flash
Also a K1m VZW->Telus flash
Also a V9m VZW->USCC SPARKO_etc (current)
And a totally plagerized signature!
