Flashing Problems! Help?

iamz3r0's picture

I just recently flashed to Alltel NCR_01.1A.00R and I decided to change back to Verizon, because of the Alltel errors, and being unable to check my minute usage on the Verizon network.
I successfully flashed back to Verizon 24.1_01.19.05 MONSTER, and my phone makes calls, but programs such as Get-It-Now, VZW WAP (and HTR Free WAP), etc. don't work any more. I was wondering if this was fixable via SEEM edits or something... I'd really love to enjoy the Vcast Song ID and stuff.

I also need to know, if I flash back to Alltel NCR_01.1A.00R, to enable DUN, Free WAP, etc., along with the #MIN (#646) to check my minutes on the Alltel flash? Puzzled

Sorry about the confusing problems, Sticking out tongue

patience is a virtue you know. don't just go around willy nilly flashing this way and that without getting some input first.

flashing is a very delicate process, where you are REQUIRED to make backups of certain files that make your phone work properly, on any firmware. monster flashes can overwrite some this data, therefore without the original backups of certain files (many non-seem related) you may have to change more things manually then you'd enjoy.

im not sure where to start with this one, but you probably need to double check some advanced settings against someone elses settings.. since you are flashing your phone, you should already be familiar with QPST and Radiocomm (if you are not, theres your first problem)

please refer to a full guide on flashing your phone with firmware

Curious as to what firmware was originally on the phone prior to trying to flash to Alltel.

As for correcting you current issue after going back to VZW have you loaded a good ERI file to the phone after flashing. After which time you need to dial *228 and select option 1 to reprogram it. If data services still do not work after that still then your only option is to call customer service and tell them GIN does not work. They will have to reset your data and you should then be good to go.

FYI there is no real that checking your balance while on Alltel should not work either. Sounds to me like the guide/process was not followed completely which is why you were having issues. I have numerous phones flashed and except for the few thing we know that don't work like vcast..etc everything should work just the same as with the VZW UI.

Unlike the hacking, I'm somewhat new at the flashing process, so any help is greatly appreciated.

I originally had the Verizon 24.1_01.19.05 Stock firmware. I just flashed it to see what could be accomplished by flashing to another company's firmware, I guess I didn't read up on it enough.

Well that being the case that explains why you had issues going to Alltel. You can not flash to a different carriers firmware to a VZW v3m when your phone started stock with the firmware you mentioned.

Yeah, I'll second that. The newer firmware(s), 01.19.xx can NOT really be flashed away from. And the one you mentioned having originally, 01.19.05 is a buggy one as well.

good luck

grab that flash from the link posted but as a suggestion I'd update to the most recent version of the same flash ( ie .01.19.09). reason being is there are serious bugs in the .01.19.05 & .01.19.07 file also.
