Flash My Razr Question(s)
Hello, This is my first post and have several questions:
As you all know, Verizon locks their razrs to their maximum extent...So I ahve performed some of the seem edits and hacks to my phone, but still want more...
I have a Verizon Wireless Razr V3m
Software Version: 24.1_01.19.07
Boot Loader: I don't know what my boot loader version is, but when I go to check, It comes up with a Blue Screen with the Motorola "M" on it and says something about USB along the bottom.
So I have some questions:
I would like to falsh to another UI, but want to remain using verizon services..I.E. Calling, TXT, Free WAP, and other things on my phone, But still use Verizon. What flash file do I want to use? Can you post a link? And instructions so I don't mess up. (I already tried it on another razr and ruined it. Verizon was nice enough to replace it no charge.)
I also want to still have free WAP, but other things like:
BT Transfer from Phone To Phone (Any kind of file)
an easy to Use UI with cool themes
and also was wondering if their is a UI that I can look through the files on another phone from mine via BT? (File Browser?)
Also, All my hacks will be performed on a Widows XP computer, Service Pack 3. Please post links that will work with my Comp. Also, Could you please post links to any Software needed? Thnx.

Posted: Tue, 05/19/2009 - 15:47 by teddyearpWell, sorry to say, but with that firmware (Software Version) on your phone, you CAN NOT flash away from it to a Moto UI firmware. There are no leaked Moto flashes that are designed for MEID phones and that is what you have. That may be how and/or why you ruined the other phone.
If you really want a VZW Razr V3m that you can flash to a different firmware, look around on eBay for a used one, but ask the seller if it has NEWC_01.09.02 or lower on it. Those are the only razrs that there are flashes available for you to do what you wish.

The key to flash a device is not just the idea of the firmware. The key is does the device use an MEID or an ESN number for activation. So with that said you want a device that use a ESN for activation and then you should be able to flash it. Keep in mind when I say this it is only relative to the v3m as the v3c was never sold using MEId numbers, and all newer deviecs liek the MAxx Ve, Razr2..e.tc all use MEId so any leaked file for those will in fact be MEId based and can be flash. It is just the v3m that you have to be careful with as it was the only Razr for VZW that had ESN and MEIds being sold. And VZW was the only carrier to ever sell MEID v3m's all the other carrier only had ENS phones.

D2 WE & Droid PRO NS versions fully unlocked & now working on AT&T w/HSPA 3G data, and T-mob in the USA. All services work on the fly switching between VZW and a GSM carrier

As there are no leaked monster flash files for your phone model and the hardware type it has (using a MEID instead of an ESN), you CAN NOT flash away from what you have right now. Please believe us, we have seen SOOO many people who have bricked their phones by not reading and/or believing.

Posted: Sun, 05/31/2009 - 20:22 by listenman20with that f/w you should be able to flash your phone to whichever UI you like. and yes if need be you could activate it on your acct, but i wouldn't take it in to be activated. you can easily switch phones either online at your MyVerizon acct. or *228 opt 3. there's a guide in the guides section and i think it has links to another guide. if there are any questions plz post back.
i'd suggest you read all the guides you can find on the subject. just be sure they are relevant to your phone.

OOOPS, I was confused because the other question was asked by a different user with a different f/w. However if the current phone info that you now post is correct, I would suggest you go ahead and flash it using this guide:

The only thing that needs to be updated in that guide is the link to the online ESN switcher.
HOWEVER, IF YOU DO NOT ACTUALLY HAVE A V3M RUNNING THE S/W YOU HAVE POSTED CURRENTLY, DO NOT USE THAT GUIDE I just linked.
And as Listenman posted, switching/activating is just as he said. In fact, I have activated many phone not bought through VZW with both methods.

2)does roaming,wap,evdo,sms etc work just as before
3)does my voice messages get deleted after flashing
4)WHICH FLASH DO YOU RECOMMEND?
5)whats the bad thing that you get when flashing (so far i only heard the good side of it) 6)I'm going to use a lot of roaming is it going to make a difference if i flash?
