I have the same problem when I am uploading ringtones to my razr... When I UL them it says
"USB:IO Time-out!
CMD: Data write fail!
Volume name fail!"
Then the file is ul to my phone but it is only a partial.. Normally 10 to 14 KB
again.. what version of p2k commander are you using?
what command set is it using? p2k or p2k05? (should be using p2k slow commands)
what firmware do you have? If it is older one like NEWC_01.09.02 or NEWC_01.05.0A, you can use BitPim (look in the guides section to find the guide for using that application to add ringtones). However, if your firmware is 24.1_01.19.xx you can't use BitPim to add ringtones.
i hate having to check profiles on OP...but he's running a gsm phone so he probably needs a different version or set of instructions to use p2k...the other guy with this prob is running an alltel v3a and seems like they need special instructions as well, but i've fergotten where to find those....should be in the alltel forum tho.
being p2k commander is designed for use on GSM phones actually, it should all be the same for them to be honest. I think it just needs to be using the proper set of commands like I mentioned. A gsm phone *should* have more luck with using the newer versions of p2k commander without the use of MSU or other suspending software. But, the tried and true method for ME on a CDMA phone is to use MSU to suspend the phone, and use the version of p2k commander that we host here in the software section, and using the slow commands. drivers provided by motodev obviously.
Good call, listenman on the OP. I do the same. However I'm not sure how well p2kC works with GSM phones as I've never had one. But if spike says that the prog is more geared towards those phones, then it should be so.
@ rage... What USB Handest Drivers are you using? If you are having troubles, maybe use the 'clean' function and then 'clean and re-install' function within your driver set and maybe that will cure your problems.

What was pyde's old sig? Yeah buddy, HELLO Java. . .
I think it (USB Handset drivers) is V 3.2.0.... That is what it says on the add/remove programs part..( Motorola driver install) I am not sure how else to find that info.
I also started trying to use PST v2005.14.2.0
And P2KC v3.2.2 Build date: 2005.9.4
my MSU is v C01.11.34 ( Of course I am not trying to use PST and MSU @ the same time)
When I started using PST I actually got some files on my phone... At least most of them then it(the phone) started rebooting as I would try to UL the file to it... The first couple of times though it worked about 85 to 90% of the files!!
Online and operating normally To use the server you must enable WAP access on your account by going into the My account link on the side bar, going to Edit, then go to WAP, and then check the WAP access enable box and Submit.
