Enableing Java and free sms on alltel v3m
I have download so java apps for my phone only to find out that it does not support java. According to my firmware version my phone has already been hacked with the monster pack.

I have seen ways to hack version phones but nobody list if the hacks will work on an alltel v3m. but the other thing is i want a hack so i wont loose my sd slot. and the other thing is people list how to hack uscc,sprint,vzw phones forfree text messaging and i wanted to do that to so it doesn't cost me anything. Can anybody help please? I have never heard of free txt messages before.
Sailor is right. Alltel phones with the f/w you mention...

I will have to later look further into the webpage you linked to see about 'free' sms, but I've never heard of it, but who knows, maybe I'll learn a new trick.
As far as getting Java working on your phone, as far as I know, there isn't any 'leaked' f/w combinations that will give you Java on your current phone (V3m) that will retain the TF card capability. From what I know, the only way to get the best out of your Alltel V3m on Alltel's network would be to read up and explore the possiblilities of flashing it to Vivo.
Read on, and good luck. Oh and BTW, most of the 'hacks' listed here in the guide section, although they are in the VZW section will work for a Alltel phone.

first things about telus/bell (the java carriers) is that the reason there is no leaked v3m is because they, at least to my knowledge, never had a v3m, only the v3c (aka no sd). as far as i know the only java v3m came from sprint, and there are a number of problems with sprint flashes, the main one being that data wont work as far as ive read. that means calls/texts, no GIN, no mms, no WAP. and its a realm most of us here havent had much experience with.
as far as free texts, i believe that IS possible with various java applications, but i think sms gets substituted for minutes? somehow sms are sent differently, havent really looked into it. try the website getjar.com for java apps.
also, one more tidbit... Vivo, a brazilian/south american telephone company is VERY BADASS. i had a v3m on their software for a while. loved it!

They have there network setup entirely different for data authentication which is why you can't get it working, and why it would be a waste of time. Reason being is most Java apps need data services to function correctly.
Second as mentioned Telus & Bell did in fact only sell the v3c and not the v3m. That is why if you did flash your v3m with there leaked files you would loss the TF card slot because you are really turning your v3m into a v3c. To further add it is no easy task getting a Java based firmware working on another carrier. Personally tho I have done it and it is possible but a major time sync is all, but when I did it I was putting it on VZW's network. And being it was so much trouble the next go around I just broken down and bought an actual Telus v9m from eBay to save me the headaches. It was a lot easier to do that then go threw the entire process of cross flashing.
as for free txt msgs won't happen unless you have some type of app to do it. And when all is said an done they aren't free seeing as you are now using data from the app in place of the txt msg.

Oh and as for version 6 I've had it for a few weeks already myself. And IMO it works no better then the older version as I still have and use version 3.2.6.....lol. IMHO the only reason you need a newer version is if you have a device that needs pk05 mode, and as for myself I still use version 4.9.d for those devices.

Posted: Thu, 07/02/2009 - 16:25 by pyde_pypperFYI there is no SPECIFIC guide for flashing an Alltel device to Vivo for use on Alltel's service. However if you followed the Vivo flashing guide exactly as shown it should still work just fine and fully function including all data services.
Of course I have it set to slow that is the only way it will even really work at all. If you don't set it to slow you for sure will have issue one way or another. Not saying it won't work but it will act up that I do know as I've tested it before.
Curious as what you consider " runs much more smoothly" either it works or it doesn't. However IMO any version works just as well as the last if you have it setup right, and personally I've never had an issue getting any version to run just fine, but I do also keep 2 version setup on my comp also for depending on what type of phone I'm working on. That way I don't have to change any settings to use it. Just plug the phone in and roll with what ever version I need which is not very often anymore needless to say as I don't mess with the dumbphones very often anymore.

And i don't know why but when i use p2k 6 mine is set to the 2nd level not slow but not fast. and it works great has excepted every phone i plugging to it except every alltel phone i have added hack to i had to open pst phone programmer first inorder to acess the phone all others p2k has no problem.
