Being I don't know how
Posted: Thu, 10/30/2008 - 10:35 by pyde_pypperBeing I don't know how Cricket activate/programs there phone it's hard ro say.
However what I will say is activation and programming are 2 different things. The phones ESN/MEID has to be active on your account with cricket prior to getting it programmed. So at this point is you phones ESN/MEID activated with Cricket. If so does Cricket even use the *228 function because some carrier do not do it the same as Alltel or VZW. another thought is did you put a Cricket ERI file on the phone also. I know peopel who flash on VZW sometimes have to write a PRL & ERI file first and then they can do the *228 without an issue.
Another thing you could do is just manually program it via the setup menu if you know what all the settings need to be.

Posted: Thu, 10/30/2008 - 12:09 by shanegi13ok so my phone is not on my cricket account so than means ill jaus half to pay them to do it and ...
and ime not so sure what the ERI file is but when i flashed my phone i followed steps on howardsforms and it gave me abunch of files for it and i used pst to write the prl file to it and it didnt really say anything about an ERI ..
also almost all the info in my phone except my number came from my friends v3m razr his was Verizon flashed to cricket so i know the info is right
but theis ERI file what is it can you explane it to me i compleatly understand the PRL just not the ERI ??
ERI= Enhance roaming
Posted: Thu, 10/30/2008 - 13:30 by pyde_pypperERI= Enhance roaming indicator. If you do not have the correct ERI on the phone it may not grab the correct network tower so it can be programmed.
As for the phone being a VZW flashed to Cricket that is fine but was your friend on Crickets netorrk or using VZW with running the Cricket flash. you need to be clear on this type of stuff so there is not confusion. That said if you are a Cricket customer you need to change your profile seeing as it says VZW. FYI when you get into this type of stuff each and every last piece of detail is EXTREMELY important so there are no problems.

do you know where i can get an erl from ??
That I don't but you could
Posted: Fri, 10/31/2008 - 05:01 by pyde_pypperThat I don't but you could stand a post/thread here asking for someone to backup the ERI file of a Cricket phone and post it.

Posted: Fri, 10/31/2008 - 13:03 by teddyearpYeah, it would be nice if someone else who uses Cricket as their provider could post since not all carriers use the ERI function. I know for a fact that USCC does NOT.
good luck

Posted: Fri, 10/31/2008 - 18:43 by pyde_pypperFYI only way to get the ERI file is by using either PST or RSD General it in not a file you can get via BitPim.

Posted: Sat, 11/01/2008 - 03:59 by shanegi13ok that would make sence but how would i get the file with pst ??

and when i try to poen one of them the .rla file and its odd but please tell me how to get the eri file out of a phone ....
and i have bin exploring my phone with bitpim and i noticed that any thing wit an eri in its name also had verison in the name
and in that case it would completely explane my problem ....
so yah .. how do i get the eri file with pst ??¿¿
The ERI file should have an
Posted: Sat, 11/01/2008 - 13:24 by teddyearpThe ERI file should have an .eri extension. I haven't used PST in a while, I much prefer RSD CDMA General, but if I remember you use the file -> open -> Enhanced Roaming Indicator file -> brwse to the .eri file -> click ok and go from there. I could be wrong on these exact steps as I only use RSD anymore.
good luck.
