Changing browsers... can it be done?
First of all, I want to apologize if this was already posted and I just didn't see it. I have the sprint v3m with that crappy Obigo browser on it and I wanted to know if there is any way that I can change the browser to something better, perhaps one that supports flash lite. I got stuck with this phone as a replacement and I would like at least one worthwhile feature on it until I can upgrade in December...

Being that you have a Sprint

Just head over to mini.opera.com on your current browser and try downloading OperaMini and you should be good to go. I can't say for sure it will work but no reason it shouldn't. Java is Java pretty much when it comes to the cell phones. I've juts never toyed with a sprint model Razr it all, but my Razr's do in fact have Java also and it a pretty easy task adding something new to it.

Got it already, but...
Posted: Mon, 08/18/2008 - 09:37 by redhotrazrI have opera mini and while its pretty cool, it can't display anything that runs off of adobe flash lite because essentially opera is still running off of the obigo browser as an app, and there is not a version of flash lite compatible with it. I know that razrs are able to support it, and I even know which version to use, I just can't get it to download to my phone... I want to know if I can get rid of obigo and replace it with a browser that is compatible with flash lite, and if the browser is not the issue, then what is it and how do I get around it?
No clue then, because what

Then again lord only knows how Sprint setup there Java stuff. My phones that run Java actually use the standard Moto firmware and not the hacked up/custom version like Sprint & VZW have put on there phones.
If you wouldn't mind drop a link that is not displaying correctly. I'm curious to try it on my phone via Opera Mini 4.0, or even my modded version of OperaMini 3 I have to see what happens.
