hmmm...several things could be wrong. do you have filesystem selected under the view dropdown? if you see filesystem, did you double click on it? don't ask bitpim to find/detect the phone. manually set it up per directions and click ok. may be other problems but respond to these so we can rule a few out 1st.

if all you need is filesysem

Posted:

if all you need is filesysem access to delete folder, choose to connect as "other CDMA" with all other options set the same as currently. I think there may be an issue with connecting the Alltel phone as a v3cm. Try that and let us know.

Shouldn't be an issue to be honest. I use that setting for my sons v3m that is running Alltel firmware.

however why not just select v3mm if running the newer version of BitPim. If you are only trying to access the filesytem you are better off using the actual phone model if it is listed.

oddly enough I had this same

oddly enough I had this same problem last night with a client's verizon v3.
I have (had) Bitpim 1.0.5- I just loaded the susteen drivers from my old data pilot and it let me into the file system, however it wouldn't with the motorola drivers.
hope this helps, Im pretty sure you can get the data pilot drivers just about anywhere.

I haven't totally reviewed

I haven't totally reviewed this thread like I usually do, but I had a bit of trouble with bitpim recently. I kept getting a bunch of errors even before the phone detection screen. I solved this by deleting the bitpim folder in my 'my documents' folder. That is what worked for me and sorry if this info is irrelevant.

teddy i think your issue is

Posted:

teddy i think your issue is a bit different and I think it has to do with the bitpim database becoming too large, or something like that. Ive seen something along those lines in the bitpim user mailing list.

as per installing MPT after the drivers, that may be a cause of your problems. MPT should be installed first since the drivers that come with it cause errors with other applications. if i was you, i would uninstall all drivers as well as MPT, then run a registry cleanup. Then reinstall MPT first, followed by MSU, and finally the driver package from MotoDev. that is a more proper way to do things since the drivers from motodev are the best ones.

when you install MPT last, those drivers take over and screw things up.
