Can't change Web Session, stuck on VIVO WAP!

I am almost done completing the flash to VIVO, but I am stuck on Step 8 of Mark Venture's flashing manual.

I can't seem to change my web session to WEB SESSION = VZN_MMS

The menu is stuck on VIVO WAP.

I've searched through the old messages and have done the suggested 2742 0001 offset 18 Check Bit 5, and the 2742 0001 offset 19 check bit 3 & bit 4, and rebooted my cell phone. It still wont let me type in something else besides that VIVO WAP.

What should I do??

BTW: I haven't gone on to the next step of activating my phone for fear of bricking my phone. So this is where I'm at right now.

ya i had the same problem, but i fxed it thrugh PST, do this

Unplug your phone from the PC, power it off, then back on, and re-connect it to the PC. Start PST Phone Programmer. Use the File pull down, and click on OPEN. Select RTT 1x-Browser, and click OK. Browse for, and select your previously backed up file.

Click on the Version 6.x tab.

On the Proxy 1 tab, change the User ID from %m to 9995551212, where 9995551212 is your Phone Number. Note: Some have had to use their 10digit MDN or 10digit MIN as written down earlier in section 1. (NOTE: this is a step I have not had to do, but others have.) Leave the other fields untouched.

Click -> SAMPLE SCREEN SHOT (Proxy 1)

Click on the Proxy 2 tab.

Configure the fields as follows...

Proxy Name: VZW_MMS
Homepage: http://homepage
User ID: 9995551212 (where 9995551212 is your 10 digit phone number)
Password: vzw

Under the Primary section...
Gateway: mms.vtext.com
Port: 80

Hi all,

I followed this to the letter and the flash was successful except for the mms. It is stuck on vivo wap like the other user. I set up the RTT 1x-Browser as described using PST but I get nothing but vivo wap as the web session and can not change it to anything else. Every thing else for the vzw server is correct. What am I doing wrong?

After making that changes as mentioned above have you gone into the setup menu to make sure the newly added websession stuck when you wrote it to the phone? If you haven't check go into the setup menu ( ie #073887*) and check to make sure you have all the correct websession setup on the phone.

I got it working finally. I did notice that PST would not always save the complete browser file parameters correctly. What finally fixed the problem (it seems anyways) was to reapply all the backups I made with RSD general and then I applied all the seem edits from some that posted them on another site. Not sure which did the trick but it worked but there was a post I found on one of the forums that said that it was noticed that PST was not backing things up correctly (I have version 7.25).
