Busy Tone while calling voice mail
My mom had a voice mail so I tried to open it. When calling it up I get a busy signal. So I tried it with my brother phone and mine and got the same thing.
What's wrong? Is it a problem on my end or vzws?

ive never had that happen to
Posted: Thu, 09/04/2008 - 15:28 by spikejonesive never had that happen to me before. in fact, ive never dialed *86 to get to voice mail either. I know that I can just hold one on my handset to get to my voicemail, then enter the 4 digit pin number. Other than that, I can dial my number from somewhere else and press * to get into the system.
But I've never had a busy signal though.
ehh. whats up doc?
FYI Spike by dialing or
Posted: Thu, 09/04/2008 - 16:23 by pyde_pypperFYI Spike by dialing or holding down #1 it is in fact calling *86 it just set in the phone already for you is all. Also as an FYI if you go in and edit the voicemail speed dial and add a pause then enter your pin followed by # when you hold 1 down it will call your VM and enter your pin for you so you don't have to manually enter it. I've been doing it that way for years so I don't even have to look at the phone. Works great with a BT headset, just use voicedial and say call voicemail and bam your in.
As for getting the busy signal I've had it happen b4 and as mentioned in a bit it will work. One time I actually called in and they did say there was an issue.

Hey pyde, I know you don't Vivo, but after my last flash for some reason my VM didn't default to speed dial 1. I'd like to do what you mention above, any ideas?
Thx in advance, teddy

well you have 2 option i'd
Posted: Thu, 09/04/2008 - 18:30 by pyde_pypperwell you have 2 option i'd say. One look and see what number is set to speed dial #1 and change it so you can just make a new contact ( ie Voicemail) using speed dial 1.
The other option is to check this seem edit on the phone and see if it is set or not. If it isn't obviously make a seem backup first just to be safe then do this edit and see if it does in fact then work. However before you do it still double check what you have set to speed dial 1 becasue my guess is if you do this edit it may wipe that contact, or if may just remove the speed dial can't say for sure on that.

Thx, but

OK I did both, first the first, then the second. Did the seem edit (after the backup), but now how do I do the PIN option? After all, I'm just a DUH kinda guy . . .

First:
Pyde THANKS for the tip! It worked on my brother Chocolate my V9m and my moms v325.
Teddy you need to have VM in your contacts and when added the number go to options then insert pause then your pin.
