Bluetooth Modem

Hey!

Well I am brand new to this forum as of 30 minutes ago, and I like all these neat hacks that I am reading about.

Problem is, I have NO idea how to do any of them. I am very skilled with computers but have never tried doing anything fun with my phone.

Anyway, I have a V3m under USCC and I was reading about the free wap and how it is not-so-free after all.

So here is my question! I have a free account with Netzero (Dial-up ISP) where I get 10 hours a month dial-up access for FREE. I have never had to pay a dime. I signed up for this account in hopes that I could use my phone as a modem with my laptop and get dial-up internet on the road.

The PROBLEM is that it has NEVER worked for me and I cannot figure out why. I connect via bluetooth, choice "Dial-up modem" and then I have to type in a number, username, and password. I do that and it says "Dialing 1-505-238-3893" (example numbers). Then a short few seconds later and the phone goes back to normal and the computer gives an error that says something to the effect of "Could not connect to host."

Anyone know how to do this? I was thinking maybe USCC had a way of blocking this type of "data call"?

Thanks in advance!
