Authentication Failed
Almost a year ago, I got a Razr v3m from a package that my parents bought.
Being the person I am, I wasn't happy with the Verizon UI, so I flashed it over to VIVO, and then to Alltel.
Before I flashed though, I was able to use htr's web thing, and the verizon web to check my bills, etc.
But after I flashed it always saids "Authentication Failed" when I try to access the browser.
I've tried many times to setup the Web browser settings to VZW and HTR, but nothing seems to work.
From what I've seen, Verizon's MIN (Username) is the same 10 digit number as your phone number with the area code.
If anyone can point me in the right direction as to how I can get the web browser to work again to use HTR or even google... I'd appreciate it.

Posted: Wed, 11/12/2008 - 15:48 by teddyearpWell, this may not be the easy answer, but I would suggest you re-flash back to the original VZW f/w, then get everything DATA to work. Then go ahead and read again how to flash to Vivo (there's a guide here now), and following that guide to a 't', reflash to vivo. IMHO, I don't see any advantage of using an Alltel flash on a V3m over using Vivo.

If so that is why it is broke *228 on Alltel is hit or miss as to whether it breaks data services or not. One reason I agree with Teddy vivo is the better choice. Personally for me tho I don't care either way because I don't use the *228 feature after hacking any of my phone but if you do then Alltel is not the best choice to flash to.
With that all said the only way to correct it is to do what Teddy mentioned. Yea I know it sux but you have to get data servicing working on the VZW firmware again to make new backup files now so you can get data to work on a flash from a different carrier.
