Sprint phone on Verizon?

yeah... it's all in the title. I bought a phone off Ebay. It was supposed to be a verizon phone but they sent a sprint phone. I was wondering, before dealing with sending it back, if I can flash verizon on it or if there's anyway to set it up with verizon.

i recently edited it, I meant sprint not ATT... oops. sprint is cdma ( I believe) but I'm not even sure how to activate the phone. If I do it online, verizon asks for the 'order number' and 'location code'. As far as I know you only get thse when you buy a new phone.

~Sweet Baby Jesus I HATE my internet! I wrote something and it ditched so I lost eerything~

ANYWAYS

1.) You can activate that stuff online without those codes. You just need to pick another option.

2.) Listen I believe it would be 3 then 1. Active the phone on your number THEN activate the phone.

3.) Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Sprints networking weird? Can you flash a Sprint phone to vzw f/w and have it work? If I'm right you can't flash a vzw phone to Sprints f/w and have it work on vzw network. I don't get it though.

is there a reliable source

is there a reliable source for the v3m full firmware. I found some dudes site with the firmware but it's not flashing right... the phone keeps restarting while trying to flash... I hope I didn't brick it

UPDATE... so I got it flashed to Verizon firmware, but it won't activate, I keep getting 'activation failed'.

So much going on here, it's hard for me to say. Did you use a 'monster' flash file to flash your sprint phone? I'm wondering if I am 'that dude's site'.

As far as I know, you should be able to use a 'monster' flash file to flash it to a VZW f/w. Now I don't know, but if for some reason this sprint phone uses a MEID/pESN as opposed to a regular ESN to register on the VZW network, therin may lie your problem. Otherwise, if you're having trouble flashing, you might want to put the phone in 'bootloader' mode to complete the flash.

There is a guide here for general flashing of your phone, or you could go to mickey's place and find most, if not, all the files and info for flashing your phone successfully to VZW. RSDLite4.3 and the proper monster. It shouldn't be too hard to do so, unless . . .

The only other thing I can think of is if you tried one of the newer 24_01.19.xx monster flash files on your phone. If so, then you're in for a whole bunch more work than you originally planned for.

much luck

To better assist we need

To better assist we need some specific details of the phone.

1: What flash version was originally on it from Sprint.
2: does the phone use an 8 digit ESN number or does it have a 14 digit MEID for activation.
3: what VZW flash version did you put on the phone.
4: How did you try activating it?
5: which option did you use when doing the *228. It should have been option 3 and no others. Option 3 will activate, program , and update the PRL all in one shot.

As for a link to flash files seeing as I don't know where you got yours go here as they are all good working files.

Got it all figured out, just

Got it all figured out, just responding in case anyone runs into this. I don't remember where I got the original firmware ("that dudes site" which was a monster flash) but while flashing with RSD lite it was almost finished when I believe it went to restart but then got stuck there. The phone would show the splash start up the it would have the top verizon red bar with a white screen. Key sounds worked but didn't function (no camera, dialing function, etc.) I ended up going to humpa.com and getting the v3m monster there which worked. So then I went to activate it online but it kept telling me the ESN was already activated (makes sense I guess since it had a previous owner... duh) So I had to call verizon only to just have me do a 74663# CLR CLR and manually put in the phone number in NAM1. the only thing different was they had me put a 2 in CDMA sys ID. Before it was a 4 digit number. So in the end I got it. My first carrier change woo whoo!

ps. the ESN listen on the phone is an 11 digit number. there's an 8 digit hex but thats different right?

Either way, LOVE this site! Couldn't have done it without
