fyi the GSM model of the Razr is a whole different ball of wax compared to the CDMA versions. However as far as BT goes it should be fully unlocked on the GSM model Razr tho.

No it will not have an mp3 player because the v3 does not have a memory stick to add music to the phone anyways. The original GSM Razr was never intended for use with media in all honesty.
As for WAP no dice there either as data services and setup on the AT&T network it totally different and even at that it won't be free. Heck it isn't free on VZW's network anymore seeing as they have changed there calling plans and now charge per bit sent & received unless you purchase a data plan.

ok thx. the reason why im asking is because my dad may switch to either sprint or at&t because VZW is getting a litte too expensive. so i was just wondering which carrier would be the closest to the RAZR v3m and if i can hack either one to get the same if not similar experience...

that is a tough one to answer to be honest. For one as I mentioned the whole GSM game is totally different when it comes to hacking stuff and nothing would work the same as you've seen with your VZW v3m.
As for Sprint they use there own custom user interface like VZW does on there phones and that whole game is a bit different also. So not everything that gets done on the VZW model Razr will work the same on Sprint either.
On a side note tho as I don't know what your dad means by getting expensive. I also have no idea what type of calling plans you guys use are so it's tough to say if you will really save any money by changing carriers. Last time I did any price comparison the AT&T plans were priced exactly the same price as VZW whether is be family shared or individual plans. That said you really would not save by changing but then again it depends on who you talk to tho also. If most people you call are on a different network then I could see why he may complain. As for Sprint tho yea they may be a little cheaper but I'll for warn you the service from Sprint will NOT be on the same level as VZW that is for sure. I know of at least 8 people that have left Sprint within the past few months because there service is so bad, at least in our area. Ever since Sprint bought Nextel there service is falling off pretty bad IMO. Also Sprint customer service is terrible from my understanding and they do have issues with billing. That said it's a real pain to get it corrected also, so if you do go to Sprint tell him to pay close attention to his bill/bills.
I'm not here to say one way or the other but over the years I've been with ever carrier at least once. That said hands down VZW wins which is why I've stayed with them now for almost 10 years.

Posted: Mon, 10/13/2008 - 09:19 by pyde_pypperNo clue myself as I really pay no attention to GSM phones/service much at all. IMO GSM service is garbage which is why I'm with a CDMA carrier.
However if I had to guess one of the more current version like the v3i or v3xx may have the capability.
