Any update on 1.19.07 yet?
I spent some time looking at the HoFo forums yesterday and noticed there's a new firmware for the V3m. Does this indicate that those stuck with 1.19.07 can flash to the Moto UI yet?

Posted: Fri, 05/30/2008 - 06:29 by pyde_pypperNope, once you have the .01.19.05,.01.19.07, or the newest .01.19.09 firmware on your phone yo are stuck with it forever.
FYI the reason for this is because all the leaked files are for use with ESN numbers, and all the new flashes are using MEID number which is a long number and causes issues. Until the time a different carrier sells the Razr with MEID, and they update there firm2ware and it gets leaked you'll be stuck using the VZW firmware.
Currently using the New Moto Krave ZN4

Posted: Mon, 06/02/2008 - 11:18 by pyde_pypperNot long at all to be honest once the file was leaked, Allte was a bit longer but that is because it was the first Monster file leaked. Back on the v3c they were upgrade files getting leaked and the process was different. As for Vivo it was a matter of a few days seeing as the process was already figured out for Alltel.
Heck it only took a matter of a few weeks to work out the process for the v9m once the files were leaked.
The whole problem comes from the fact the VZW v3m are now using MEID numbers in place of ESN, while all other carriers still have ESN phones, and you can't interchange the flashes between them. Also as and FYI if you notice the Razr had been discontinued with VZW, not sure if Moto has discontinued it or not yet but word is it's not far off if they haven't. The W755 is the replacement for the v3m at this point. That being said the odds of other carriers getting MEID phones and having to update there firmwares for it are pretty much slim to none IMO.

Posted: Mon, 06/02/2008 - 12:39 by listenman20and i havent seen alltel store with a v3m in a while either. they've gone to the v3a which seems to be an awful lot like the v3c as it has no external storage. so i don't see them leaking flashes for an meid phone they dont carry.

Both my V9m's have MEID also, and I do know the z6 series is MEID along with the W755, not sure on the W385 tho, and have no clue as to what the other mfgs are using being I don't buy them.

Posted: Tue, 06/03/2008 - 13:08 by pyde_pypperThe leaked file for the v9m is an MEID flash, that's how. FYI all the new phones getting released even for other carriers are MEID and not ESN anymore. The whole ESN/ MEId issue is only really relative to the v3m to be honest, and that's only because of the amount of then that were sold. It's kinda like people who are getting new broadband service at there house these days a lot of folks are getting IPV6 now in place of IPv4 like most of us more then likely have. Reason being is they are starting to run low on IP addresses already.
WCDMA is more or less Wide band CDMA, just a new update to CDMA with some added stuff. Doesn't really get used in the US tho that I'm aware of. Mostly used over in Asia from my understanding.

So does that mean we can use our CDMA phones over in Asia? Or are the bands different or something? I was always under the impression if you were to go to like Europe or Asia you would have to get like a GSM phone.

Also most places overseas don't use CDMA they have updated to W-CDMA which is not the same as CDMA. Only VZW that should work would be the new z6c which was designed to be an international phone.
One thing I will say is if you go to Japan no phone will work, even a AT&T GSM phone. They have there own specific network which is one thing my old man pisses and moans about everytime he has to head to Japan.
