Alarm trouble!

On my Alltel Razr v3m, if I set an alarm and turn the phone off, the alarm dosen't turn the phone on and go off when it's supposed to.

I thought this was just how the RAZR was made but my friend has a v3m from a different provider where the alarm actually works like it should.

Is there a hack or workaround for this on an Alltel V3M?
