A:There are a couple ways to go about doing this actually!

Method number one:

What is needed:

  • drivers installed properly
  • your favorite filesystem explorer (can be p2k commander with MSU or PST running in the background OR you can use QPST EFS Explorer.)
  • images (duh!)

What you do:

  1. connect the phone to your filesystem browser
  2. browse to a/motorola/shared/picture (if they are stored internally) or if they are on the transflash card, browse to a/mmc (QPST and BitPim only)
  3. copy the files over to the PC using the utility provided with the application of your choice.
  4. you may delete the files from the phone if you wish (as long as they are not locked, and that is another story)
  5. the same thing can be done in reverse

Method 2: (faster for mass transfers)

What is needed:

  • micro SD card
  • micro SD to SD adapter
  • SD card reader

What you do:

  1. transfer the images to the card from the phones menu
  2. turn the phone off, take out the battery, and then the card
  3. place the card into the SD adapter, place the SD adapter into the card reader
  4. when windows asks what you want to do - choose to view the folder contents.
  5. the photos/images will be on the root of the card and you can drag them to desktop or wherever else you want them
  6. use safely remove hardware to unmount the card
  7. replace the card into the phone and turn it back on
  8. this same method can be done in reverse

Want to set the default storage location of photos to be on the card?

On a Verizon firmware phone do the following:
  1. press the camera button
  2. go to options
  3. go to "Switch Storage Device"

Info below is taken from a verizon phone with older firmware

This method works for transferring audio for the media player (wma format) as well as videos (3gp and mp4 format). For audio, the files are stored on the transflash card in the "my music" folder. For videos, they are stored internally at a/motorola/shared/video, and on the transflash card they will go in the same area as the photos do (ie. the root of the card - no folders).

This last bit was edited to correct the location of the audio, i accidentally placed an incorrect internal storage location in my guide. while it may have been correct for some carriers' firmware, it was not correct for verizon firmware. as such i felt it best to leave that out.
