Couple thangs here and thurr... wap, homepage, mysite, and more

ello. just thought id drop off a little update as to some recent changes. first of all the most noticeable is the homepage, which i have re-done using Panels, Views, and Blocks (all drupal modules). It shows the latest and most popular type stuff for a buncha stuff. also to go along with this, we've setup the MySite module for drupal which allows you to create your own little personalized page of specific information... you can even add multiple MySite pages i think. hmm... its hard to explain, i have yet to play with it for more then 15 minutes but if you want to check it out and explore your MySite for now visit http://hacktherazr.com/mysite/YOUR-NAME-HERE and yes that means put your username after the mysite/

on the free wap proxy note, things are pretty finalized and set for quite some time to come. the finished best case scenario regarding registered members and wap accounts has been accomplished, and a new access policy has been added that you must agree to before enabling wap access. yes. everyones wap access was disabled so that we dont have thousands of un-used wap accounts that will never be used, and primarily so that you can accept our new basic terms of service which i gotta say is subject to change at any time and you already accepted, so if we later add that you will need to be our slaves for 1 month out of the year, you already agreed! nah just kidding, seriously just kidding. its just to prevent abuse so that we have some sort of legal re-course for it being used for anything with bad intentions. we prefer not be held liable for anything, and this is the first step to that

aside from that.. i just made a small change to the Comment module.. you know how when you make a Comment, which is a reply to a forum topic, a comment on a video, all that -- well, you may have noticed that if you dont fill in the SUBJECT field, that it automatically creates one for you based on the Body of the comment (the comment itself)... so, i felt this was a little short and rarely gave good insight... and especially with the new homepage considered, it just made sense to extend the auto-creation. i located the script in the code for this process and extended the current 26 character cut to 75 characters, and also i added a ... at the end of the subject so as to suggest that theres more to the comment, which there almost always is

so. yeah. yee haw. i gotsta get back to work just thought it'd be nice to drop a lil update as far as latest changes on the site. oh also i think listenman20 has been adding some new profile fields for wireless carriers. who else is still workin on stuff? anybody even read these? lol... adios, ttyl

EDIT: regarding the homepage, i just enabled a "simple cache" of it that refreshes every 30 seconds... which means the homepage loads noticeably faster because its not rummaging through the database (for the gobs of information shown on the homepage) every time the page is loaded... instead, basically every 30 seconds the system takes a snapshot of the data, aka a cache, and when you as a visitor go to the load the homepage its like loading basic HTML vs loading stuff directly from the database in a way... just, much more instant. yee haw.
